Every Match Week Dos a Cero will help get you prepped for the biggest European matches involving the USMNT star players. Of course you’ll watch your favorite club, but check these out too and see what’s happening in the rest of European football, while cheering on our boys. Not a bad idea…
Ratings are based on:
1) How big a star the USMNT player is, plus how confident we are he will feature in the game
2) How interesting the match is from a neutral perspective
Here are our Top 5 matches for this week (in chronological order):
1) Antonee Robinson and Fulham take on Man United in an extremely high-profile matchup. This is the first match of the Premier League season, and the first of the “true” Jim Ratcliffe era at United

2) Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah, and AC Milan take on Torino in their first match under new manager Paolo Fonseca. We expect CP10 to play underneath new striker Alvaro Morata, an interesting change from his role on the right wing last season. Musah should provide fresh legs off the bench.
3) Folarin Balogun has a major opportunity to cement himself as the go-to striker at Monaco, following the offseason departure of last season’s starter. Their opponents St. Etienne are newly promoted, so expect chances for Balogun to score

4) Tim Weah and Juventus will play their first match under new manager Thiago Motta. Motta’s appointment is a mixed bag for USMNT fans. Weah is moving back to his more natural right wing position after playing right wing back last year. On the other hand, McKennie is no longer part of Juve’s plans and needs to find a new team. Don’t expect Wes to be in the matchday squad

10.4 – Weekend Recap
The last match window before the USMNT all gather in Austin for Pochettino’s first camp was action packed.
Pulisic scored, and was Milan’s best player, again! It’s almost every game this year he’s been either the best player by the data or as voted by fans. …But we get some bad vibes from his teammates twice stripping him of the PK responsibility against the coach’s orders. Theo Hernandez and Tammy Abraham both had their PKs saved by David de Gea – so they probably should have let Pulisic, who is 10/10 in his career, take them.
September 2024 “team of the month”
This is basically how the USMNT would line up in our first matches under Pochettino – if he made his decisions based ONLY on current club form. He obviously won’t do that – but it’s a cool way to look at who is playing well, and who isn’t, for the USMNT.
