dos a Cero examines the case for and against Gregg Berhalter
Following the USMNT’s exit in the group stage of the 2024 Copa America, we examined the evidence for and against Gregg Berhalter as manager of the USMNT. As with most fans and pundits, our knee jerk reaction was that he needed to go, but Berhalter played an important role in rebuilding our program and it’s a major decision, so we need to be sure before taking action.
It’s possible to create a credible case for Berhalter that the Copa America campaign was doomed by the red card against Panama, and that Uruguay is just a better team, so we should overlook this Copa and let him continue to build the program.

USMNT v. Panama Preview – Pochettino Era Begins
Mark your calendars. 9PM ET this Saturday. The Pochettino Era for the USMNT finally begins.
Poch’s first game in charge is a friendly in Austin, TX versus Panama. Panama is ranked #37 in the FIFA Rankings – which means they are a decent team. They’ve also been a tricky matchup for the USMNT in recent years, with Panama winning 3 of the last 4 meetings (Copa America, a shootout win in the 2023 Gold Cup Semis, and a 1-0 W in Panama during 2022 World Cup Qualifying).
